All Dyson Airblade™ hand dryers are equipped with sealed HEPA filters as standard. This means they capture 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns, including bacteria and viruses. HEPA is defined as a filter that captures 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns and is tested to the IEST-RP-CC001.6 standard. The EN1822-5 standard further tests filters to capture 99.95% of particles of the most penetrating size, typically around 0.1 microns. Dyson HEPA filters pass both tests, so users can be sure they are drying their hands with HEPA-purified air. Filters that do not meet these rigorous test standards may be less effective at removing potentially harmful particles from the environment.
Regularly check that the air intake is free of dust and debris. Wiping the air intake with a soft cloth should be sufficient to remove dust and debris. If the air intake becomes clogged, more thorough cleaning may be required or the filter may need to be replaced. If necessary, a Dyson filter replacement kit is available for high-usage environments, containing everything needed to replace your machine's HEPA filter on-site. Contact the Dyson helpline for more information. Cleaning or replacing the filter for your hand dryer can be done by carefully following the instructions in the filter replacement kit. If in any doubt, contact a qualified electrician or the Dyson Benelux Helpdesk for support.
HEPA filters last for approximately 3,000 hand dries. Annual cleaning is very important. Once you have removed the dust, if you do not see too many black spots, it can continue to be used. You can also potentially remove a layer. However, if the HEPA filter gets wet, it must also be replaced (common in the food industry).
