Biodegradable refuse bags

Because Happy Sacks refuse bags are biodegradable, the bags, including their contents, can be disposed of in the GFT (organic waste) bin. The bag will eventually compost completely on its own because the bags are made from natural materials such as starch, potatoes, corn, and sugarcane. Happy Sacks refuse bags comply with the European EN-13432 / 7PO135 standard and bear the Dutch Seedling logo, the Belgian OK Compost quality mark, and the Vinçotte quality mark.

What do these quality marks entail?

The Seedling logo and the OK Compost quality mark have the same meaning. The Seedling logo is the quality mark for the Netherlands, and the OK Compost quality mark is the quality mark for our southern neighbors. Only refuse bags with one of these two quality marks may be thrown into the GFT waste bin. These quality marks are reliable and have been checked by an independent certified party. As soon as you see this logo, you can be sure that a refuse bag is 100% compostable and biodegradable.

The EN-13432 quality mark stipulates the properties a refuse bag must possess to actually be considered 'biodegradable' or 'compostable'. As soon as refuse bags comply with this standard, it means that the bags are fully degradable.

The Vinçotte quality mark guarantees objective services in the field of inspection, certification, and conformity evaluation.

HAPPY SACKS have the OK compost HOME certificate from TÜV AUSTRIA. This quality mark guarantees that these products are fully compostable at home under natural conditions.
