SanTRAL® Plus wins Green Product Award

Bram De Geus

Winning gets a green light. The sustainable design of the SanTRAL® Plus series has been honored with a Green Product Award. Ophardt Hygiene received this award for its focus on product longevity and supporting the circular economy. This sustainable stainless steel washroom series has a proven track record of durability. Ophardt Hygiene also produces fully recyclable pumps that can contain up to 100% post-consumer recycled plastic.

Green Product Award

Since 2013, the Green Product Award has honored products and services with sustainable and innovative designs. All projects are evaluated in 13 different categories, from architecture, tiny houses, office products, packaging, to consumer goods and much more.

This year, 1500 projects from 52 countries were submitted for evaluation by the Green Product Awards. The steps to determine the winners were pre-selection, nomination, and winner. The jury consisted of international experts who assessed the entries with their expertise, thus determining the winners.

More sustainability in washrooms - with OPHARDT and SanTRAL® Plus

At OPHARDT Hygiene, they believe that the economy is connected and dependent on our environment - and that a healthy future requires us to reshape our economy to protect and support our environment.

This approach has led OPHARDT Hygiene to re-launch its proven SanTRAL® Classic series with new, green elements.

Both the market and experts have proven OPHARDT Hygiene right. Not only is SanTRAL® Plus THE most successful product launch in OPHARDT Hygiene's history, but they are also receiving recognition from organizations such as the Green Product Award. This is partly because they have designed the inner components of the dispensers with post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic. This raw material is obtained from municipal recycling programs (yellow bins in Germany, blue bins in North America). The X10 pumps used in the dispenser can also be made from PCR plastic.

The housing of the dispensers is made of stainless steel, which consists of up to 80% recycled material. This metal housing gives the dispenser an extremely long lifespan and makes it resistant to the most demanding public spaces.

The dispensers are designed as an open system. This means that all dispensers - whether for soap, paper towels, or toilet paper - can be filled with products from many different suppliers. This allows facility managers to quickly respond to shortages, as they are not tied to a single supplier. The smart technology in the dispensers ensures maximum product availability, with sensors in the dispensers recording the fill level and battery level in real-time. If a dispenser is almost empty, staff receive a notification on their smartphone.

The climate-neutral future of OPHARDT Hygiene

To pursue the guiding principle - break the chain of infection - OPHARDT Hygiene is committed to preserving our natural resources. That is why they tirelessly work to improve products and services and to achieve more with less. With products like SanTRAL® Plus, we help create a more sustainable circular economy that benefits everyone.
