KWC: Future needs origin | Ep.1 | The founding of KWC (1874-1902)

Into the age of precision mechanics with a pioneering spirit In 1874, Adolf Karrer acquired a mill in Unterkulm and began manufacturing high-quality music boxes. Just one year later, the company already had 40 employees, the business was flourishing, a foundry was added, and the technology of the mechanical masterpieces was continually refined until the gramophone conquered the musical world in 1895 and sales of music boxes plummeted. Production ceased in 1902. In our “Future needs origin” series, we guide you through the exciting and eventful history of KWC. Experience 150 years of inventiveness, drama and passion for unique design and the highest level of Swiss craftsmanship.
