d line designs in fresh colours and finishes

Because there was a need for more aesthetic options for our sustainable designs, we developed a line of different colors and finishes for our architectural products and toilet accessories.

Most products from our Knud Holscher, Arne Jacobsen and Qtoo collections can be made in these finishes, but in keeping with our commitment to sustainability, this is done on a bespoke basis.

PVD finishes

Our products have long been made in high-quality metals (see below), but now we have expanded the possibilities in terms of aesthetics and hygiene by working with physical vapor deposition (PVD).

This innovative technique creates an extremely high-quality and durable finish on stainless steel. It now allows us to make our door handles and sanitary ware in a brushed satin or polished finish, in bronze, copper, charcoal and brass. And thanks to PVD’s strong hygiene profile, cohesive bathroom designs can now be realized with handles made of solid brass and sanitary ware made of PVD brass.

The use of PVD also means that our designs can have a warmer look. Our development of the four finishes has resulted in combinations of materials and colors such as charcoal with smoked oak, while brass was added for the low-fi sparkle it provides in dark spaces in restaurants, hotels and private homes – an elegant look that matches our belief in timelessness over trends.

The Qtoo collection is available in brass, copper and charcoal – all three with polished or satin finishes.

Solid metals

Nothing changes with our solid metals – AISI 316 stainless steel and brass have long been our favorite metals because they never age and meet our high quality standards.

Door handles and a selection of door hardware such as thumb turners are available in both – polished in brass and polished or brushed satin in stainless steel. Other d-line products in hardware, plumbing and barrier-free products are available in stainless steel in both finishes.

We have always worked with solid brass because it wears and patinas over time, creating a beautiful effect. But it does not respond well to the harsh cleaning agents often required in bathrooms, so our PVD launch is particularly exciting for architects who want to specify cohesive plumbing details in this material (see above).
